Ethiopian Excellence.
A refined washed lot from the highlands of Sidama — produced by Tariku Kare, one of Ethiopia’s most respected private exporters and a recent partner of our sourcing team. This G1 coffee is grown at elevations between 1,900 and 2,150 metres above sea level, where heirloom varieties thrive in fertile, red-brown soils.
At peak harvest (October to January), cherries are selectively handpicked and delivered to Tariku Kare’s dedicated mill. There, they undergo a traditional washed process using clean spring water, followed by a soak and slow drying on raised beds. The result is a clean, tea-like cup with signature Sidama florals and structure.
About the producer
Tariku Kare Exporters have been recognised by the Africa Fine Coffee Association for their commitment to quality. Beyond coffee, they actively invest in their community — employing over 600 seasonal workers, supporting local schools, and providing training to smallholder farmers to encourage excellence in specialty production.
