GAKUNDU COFFEE FACTORY
Nestled on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya, the Gakundu Coffee Factory is part of the Gakundu Farmers’ Cooperative Society, a collective known for meticulous processing and strong farmer support. The factory brings together smallholder producers who benefit from agronomic guidance, access to high-quality inputs, and transparent pricing models.
Every stage of production reflects Kenya’s reputation for excellence — from careful hand-picking of ripe cherries to precise fermentation and washing that preserve the region’s signature brightness. The result is a cup that celebrates the clarity, depth, and vibrancy for which Embu County is known.
This lot, AA Gakundu #319, captures the best of Kenyan terroir: lively acidity, layered sweetness, and elegant structure — an expressive washed coffee that rewards both filter and espresso brewing.
FLAVOUR NOTES:
